Job Description:
As the Software Engineering Manager for R&D Test Systems development, the individual will be leading a team of talented individuals from Software and hardware background focused on development, test and integration as well as postproduction support for all test solutions. The manager will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing SW design and architecture enhancements to build robust and scalable solutions that can be seamlessly deployed across the global locations. They will also develop post processing and data analysis solutions to help trouble shoot field issues across all Tesla locations. This role involves leading technical reviews, conducting root cause analysis, and participating in comprehensive impact reviews for implementation planning. Exceptional management skills required for coordinating development schedules, managing resource prioritization across ongoing projects as well as planning for future projects. The ideal candidate will apply first principles thinking, demonstrate leadership through authority and influence, establish effective organizational processes, and adeptly balance competing priorities within the company and team.
Must-haves:
Experience managing a team of over 6+ employees for 3+ years, experience of HC planning, project forecasting and goal setting
Demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to diverse levels within the business
Possess strong analytical and experimental skills, showcasing the ability to plan and execute technical tasks to address engineering challenges
Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team setting, proactively contributing ideas, planning, and proposing solutions
Hold experience in the automotive or similar hardware industry, contributing from the conception phase to production, and providing expertise in troubleshooting field issues
Proficient in a range of technologies, including Python, Jenkins, Golang, MySQL, Mongo, SDLC, DevOps, PyTest, HIL testing, and National Instruments software including VeriStand and LabVIEW
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, SharePoint, Confluence, and proficiency in PowerPoint
Experience developing code from scratch
Experience developing software for manufacturing equipment
Familiarity with Hardware AND Software integration
Compensation:
$175k-$200k.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
