The world as we know it is running out of time and the window for small, incremental action has closed. Instead, we need an emergency-level response to avert climate catastropheand leaders with the courage and mandate to take bold action. Our critical window of opportunity to sound the alarm is ever-narrowing and the time to act is now. ACEs mission is to educate, inspire, and support young people to lead the fight for their future. We achieve our mission by reaching tens of millions of young people with our programs each year, training a new generation of leaders, amplifying youth voices to shift the narrative, and increasing diverse youth participation in our democracy. JOB SUMMARY Climate Education Presenters will deliver Action for the Climate Emergencys (ACE) in-person climate education assembly program, Our Climate Our Future Live, in local high schools. They will perform a 30-minute script alongside animations within a Prezi and answer questions about climate change. Key Responsibilities Program Delivery Memorizes 30-minute script to perform alongside dynamic, engaging animation Conducts outreach via email, phone, and in-person meetings to book program at local high schools Delivers ACEs in-person education program via assembly presentations at local high schools Achieves goals of 7,000 students reached in 2024 spring semester (approximately 18 weeks of running program) with 20% of students joining ACEs list and 3% of students registering / pre-registering to vote Tables during lunch and after school to drive voter registration Represents ACE professionally in interactions with partners, teachers, and all external relationships Documents and follows-up according to ACE protocols Manages and hands off student and teacher relationships to ACE Organizing and Field staff Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Public speaking expertise if you love acting, public speaking, or improv, this position is for you Self-starter with strong organizational skills and creativity Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and manage partnerships and internal and external relationships Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Strong computer skills (Google Apps, Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, task management platform such as Monday.com) Comfortable working remotely and as part of a small team Must have a valid drivers license, consistent access to a car (or live in an area with abundant car share or public transportation options), and be willing to travel within a two-hour radius around regional hub Strong understanding of climate science and passion for climate justice Desired Qualifications Strong analytical skills with ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines Teaching, training, or facilitation experience or other experience working with high school age students Experience working in or with public school systems and/or high school teachers Bilingual in Spanish is a plus POSITION DETAILS Schedule: 40 hours per week Hourly pay: $28-30 per hour with vacation, sick time, and paid holidays Location: Remote and located in the Metro Areas of Milwaukee, Detroit. Hiring one presenter in each region. This is a temporary position through the end of the 2023-24 school year, approximately late May through mid-June 2024.
