Job Description:
Aston Carter is seeking a Human Resources Assistant for one of our clients in Norfolk, VA!
Description: This person's main job duties are to sit at the front desk, welcome visitors, answer the phones, recruit personnel, onboard personnel, and manage the administrative functions for the HR dept.
+ Answers phones and greets visitors.
+ Conference Center activities including scheduling, assisting clients, coordinating with police and janitorial to complete accommodations and providing monthly reports of Conference Center activities.
+ Coordinates employee events to include, but not limited to, holiday luncheon, promotion ceremony, employee picnic, United Way kick-off, etc.
+ Responsible for archiving and storage of all HR files, as well as preparing Excel Spreadsheets.
+ Prepares interview folders, schedules interviews, conducts interviews and reference checks.
+ Orders office supplies for the department.
+ Creates job announcements and coordinates the posting on company website, newspapers, schools, military bases and with other employment contacts.
+ Schedules pre-employment exams and sends out annual and fit for duty physical exam letters.
+ Distributes employee performance evaluation forms and monitors the employee performance evaluation schedule.
+ Oversees the student art board reservations and schedule.
+ Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ 1 year of HR experience minimum
+ Will not consider education only
+ HRIS system experience preferred
+ Ideal candidate will have good recruiting exp/sourcing/onboarding abilities
