NOW HIRING: Administrative Assistant I or II
Full-time position
Under the direction of Environmental Health Division Manager, the Administrative Assistant role is responsible for performing administrative duties and providing clerical support to Environmental Health programs as assigned. This position focuses on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of Franklin County Public Health.
Duties Include:
* This position will provide direct administrative support to Environmental Health Division Manager or designee. This role provides administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing, and copying. Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, and create standardized letters, notices, and mass mailings.
* This role will help customers with questions and licenses related to public swimming pools, body art, campgrounds, animal bites, rabies tags, and plumbing, etc.
* This position interacts with the public in person, by phone and by email; they will respond to questions and requests for information or public records, answer incoming calls and assume receptionist duties when needed. Receive and receipt payments from customers.
* Utilizes appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
* This position will issue, collect, organize, and process applications, permits, licenses and plans. Enters data, maintains databases, and creates reports. Assists in development and distribution of program reports and data.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent
* Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy, customer service skills with the ability to learn new information quickly.
* Technical proficiency needed with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams), databases, etc.
* Experience in similar administrative work strongly preferred.
Hiring Hourly Wage:
* Administrative Assistant I (up to 10 years of directly related experience): $18.00/hour - $20.70/hour. This is a non-exempt position.
* Administrative Assistant II (over 10 years of directly related experience): $18.77/hour - $21.58/hour. This is a non-exempt position.
