Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree preferably in marketing, public relations, communications, events management or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with various constituencies.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Self-motivated team player with the ability to inspire trust and confidence with colleagues and the public.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
Demonstrated ability to project a positive image.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.Preferred Qualifications
Marketing, promotion, events, and/or public relations experience in a broadcast, new media, agency, or firm environment.
Demonstrated ability to act independently in the creation and implementing of new program concepts.
Familiarity with, and an understanding of, the mission of public media.
Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, Constant Contact, Canva, and Google productivity apps.
Experience in social media management.Duties & Responsibilities
Receives direction from and works collaboratively with Marketing Manager to create and promote WCMU TV and Radio, community events including program screenings, PBS character appearances, fund-raising activities, and others to be determined.
Assists in the development of students to implement station marketing, promotion, and public relations activities.
Assists in the production of station e-newsletters.
Assists in the preparation and dissemination of station press releases.
Assists in creating digital content media for web and social media platforms.
